I have started making pottery over the past 6 months and I have decided to make some of my favorite pieces available for sale here. This little porcelain jar was thrown on the potter's wheel using a combination of mostly black porcelain with a small amount of white porcelain mixed in. This combo ended up yielding a dark grey with finely threaded white swirls. I hand-carved the pattern at the leather-hard stage and painted red and yellow underglaze into the cuts. Once the piece was bisque-fired, I applied a chartreuse high-fire glaze to the inside and a clear gloss high-fire glaze to the outside. It can be purchased as is (jar only), with a natural cork stopper, OR with a be-jeweled natural cork stopper embedded with vintage mauve pink crystal gems.
The fancy stopper option is a natural cork which has been "bedazzled" by my hand with 37 vintage Swarovski crystals glued in with ph neutral archival adhesive.
The dimensions (without the cork stopper) are approximately 2.2" tall x 2.7" ( 5.6cm x 6.8cm) wide and the weight is 4.3 oz (.12 kg).
This little vessel can be a perfect spice, salt, herb, magickal potion, or stash jar. It can also be used to hold jewelry, small precious keepsakes, or even homemade balms or healing ointments. All glazes used on this piece are all food-safe. Please hand wash only.
Each piece I create is one of a kind and takes many hours of joyful labor to complete.
