This ring was made many years ago using the cuttlefish bone casting method. I cast a single slender length in sterling silver, shaped, smoothed, and polished the surface then stamped X and O in a pattern around the ring. I love the pattern one gets when casting into cuttlefish bone-like dragon scales, so I left the overlapping bone growth pattern intact along the sides of the band. The ring is lightly oxidized to bring out the texture.
