I threw this vessel on the potter's wheel using a smooth white and grey porcelain swirl. I let it dry to leather-hard, trimmed it, and hand-carved the swirling smoke design, into which I painted watery white underglaze. Once the piece was bisque-fired, I applied a clear, high-fire glaze to the outside and a deep storm blue, celadon glaze to the inside. It can be purchased with or without the natural cork stopper.
The dimensions (without the cork stopper) are approximately 3.25" tall x 4.1" wide ( 8.3cm x 10.5cm), and the weight is 11.8 oz (.334 kg). PLEASE NOTE: The listing picture showing size is shot using a cm ruler.
This vessel can function on its own as a pretty stand-alone object, or it can hold any number of things. All glazes are food-safe, so it can be used as a container. for your favorite tea, salt, spice, stash, or incense. It can also be used to hold jewelry or small precious keepsakes. Best to wash this one by hand.
Each piece I create is one of a kind and takes many hours of joyful labor to complete.
