This striking Ankh is cast solid in Sterling Silver and set with an 6.5mm x 5mm faceted oval garnet. The silver is antiqued and the pendant is hung on an adjustable leather cord. The Ankh measures approximately 6.9 cm tall (not including bail), 2.7cm wide and weighs approx. 14.9 g.
Recently a customer asked me to make her a custom ankh with a dagger and a sheath. It was a fun project and so I changed and simplified the initial design to suit my tastes and made a couple more.
The Ankh is a symbol of Eternal Life. The ancient Egyptians believed it to represent both mortal life and the afterlife.
Garnet is known as a stone which helps harness creative energy. It is thought to represent primordial fire, creation from chaos, purification, and love. Garnet is also believed to fortify and activate survival instinct and to bring courage and hope. Its deep red color makes it a sensual stone and it's one of my favorites.
This is a decorative dagger pendant and while the blade is not sharpened, it is pointy and some care should be taken while wearing it. Please remove pendant before sleeping and please note that this pendant is not suitable for children.
